Today we made movements up to MoMA, we there for the Tim Burton exhibition. An excellent show with artifacts from his movies which include Sweeney Todd's blades and Edward Scissorhand's hands as well as original models from the nightmare before Christmas.

Me and Mondrian.....
We then proceeded to the upper east side where an evening of baking entailed. Baking, one of my favorite things to do, equaled a very happy Cara. we made a giant cookie and an apple crumble, each devoured by everyone in the perimeter.

I have been needing a new watch for quite some time as my former Casio from Argos (£16.99) was looking extremely ropey and scratched, I found this in the Disney store on 5th Ave, I couldn't resist the moving arms of Mini Mouse telling me the time of day...... It may be childish, but Cara says "I love it."

Today we went to the Bronx zoo. Although leaving the apartment so late resulted us arriving at 3.45pm, 45 mins before closing time. We ran around searching for animals, in the spitting rain and darkness. We succeeded in finding some monkeys (see above) and some Panthers in 'Asia'. we attempted to see the Giraffes, but with no joy, it had been put to bed.
Passing back through Manhattan, we decide to go check out some sights, 5th ave was the desination of choice. We emerge in Bloomingdale's. Making our way through the store we find the street and check out the christmas windows.... they are sparkly.....
We then walk along 5th Ave and see more windows, including louis Vuitton and we witnessedthe lighting up of Saks 5th ave.

Today Connie and I decide to get out and see some sights, we pick the American Museum of Natural History. An excellent choice as it turns out. there was an amazing array of taxidermy animals from all over the globe, including lions and tigers and bears, oh my! I also found great interest in the minerals, crystals and rocks section, taking me back to the chemistry lessons at school with countless experiments using malachite to demonstrate some sort of molecular structure, I forgot then and still can't remember now.....
Here were some of the highlights.... (otherwise known as the few photos which did not have glare from the camera flash.....) After walking around all day soaking up the natural history of the world, hunger took over our brains and we made a b-line for the subway on the quest for falafal from the Bedford Ave takeaway, which I still think is the best I have ever consumed.

At 1.30 am we decided to go out. Heading over the Williamsburg Bridge to the lower east side to the Fat Baby club, our friend Frankie works the door at...... an excellent resource as in turn, we had free evening...... As we enter the sparsely filled club, the DJ is playing a Baltimore-Club set and some pretty strong drinks put in our hands. After two of these beverages we were all the kings and queens of the dance floor..... the next DJ played some 90's r'n'b and hiphop, mixed with songs such as Major Lazer, Madonna and my favourite, a Lady Gaga Medly.
There was a jew sitting by himself in a booth for much of the evening (he can be seen behind the bleached out cara shape)

Today we ventured into Manhattan to go get some stuff printed off at Staples, finding ourselves back on Broadway a stroll down to Soho was in order. Turning down spring street on the way to Evolution our new favorite store (www.theevolutionstore.com/), we entered Sabon. We are guided over to a stone wash basin and encouraged to wash our hands, apparently a tradition for any customer that enters the doors. We left with baby soft and well moisturized hands.
In the evening it was Mardi Gras down stairs, we were given beads at the door. It was good.
